GX Superyachts, a brand of hybrid boatbuilder Greenline Yachts, has released the first interior images of its initial GX42 yacht, currently under construction at SES Yachts' facilities in Tuzla, Turkey. The 42-metre yacht is scheduled for delivery in summer 2026.
The flagship of the GX Superyachts fleet has been designed by Marco Casali of Italian studio Too Design, who also worked alongside the owner of this first unit to create a "family-minded" interior.
While the GX42 also comes in a Coupé variation, this owner has opted for the 353GT RPH (raised pilothouse) version, allowing for a larger master suite to sit on the main deck with forward-facing views and its own private foredeck terrace. A walk-in wardrobe, private office and large en suite complete this space.
Positioning the owner's suite on the main deck also frees up space on the deck below for an enlarged VIP suite with a private fold-down balcony to port. Three further guest cabins on the lower deck offer flexible sleeping arrangements with an optional Pullman berth.
Casali's vision for the interiors focuses on natural tones and materials that align with the eco-conscious performance of the yacht and a relaxed atmosphere. To that end, he has chosen rich walnut wood panelling for walls and cabinetry that contrasts with white leather and lacquer used throughout. Casali has also opted to use "specialised brands" such as Antonio Lupi and Dornbracht, along with loose furniture from Italian designers such as Poltrona Frau and B&B Italia.
“This is no showboat for flexing the muscles,” said Casali. “We worked closely with the owners to realise their priorities for a family-friendly design that favours extended periods on board. By using natural materials like Italian leather, stone and wood, we have created an intensely calming interior, but also one that fits the GX Superyachts principles of responsible yachting."
The yard's in-build GX42 is a sleek, raised pilothouse version with a low-profile, curved hardtop to give a sporty profile with the added benefit of 27kW (max power) solar panels.
Meanwhile, the Coupé is shown with a long, curved superstructure roofed with solar panels that slide apart to reveal a hidden sundeck, complete with Jacuzzi and bar. Both designs benefit from a beach club with fold-down wings and a hydraulic platform.
GX Superyachts hopes to "set a new benchmark in environmental performance" with its serial hybrid drive, battery bank and integrated solar arrays, previously used within the Greenline brand. It was launched at last year's Monaco Yacht Show and its range will encompass aluminium builds from 24 to 56 metres.
Each model will be able to reach six knots and a range of up to 100 nautical miles in electric mode, with the shipyard promising "less than 40 per cent of the carbon emissions" of a conventional yacht. The range's efficient hull design is owed to Francesco Rogantin of NAMES studio.
The GX range will be capable of "silent" anchorage for 48 hours or more. The battery bank will power the hotel load during this time, including air conditioning, for "no noise, vibration or smell" from combustion.
In diesel mode, the yachts will have a maximum speed of 12 knots and an impressive range of 11,571 nautical miles at six knots.
“The debut GX42 shows what is possible, while remaining true to the principles of Responsible Yachting,” said GX Superyachts founder and owner Vladimir Zinchenko. “For a boat with a slim, efficient hull, the volume is phenomenal, and we have put it to excellent use with full-beam cabins, inviting social areas for relaxed living and that wonderful upper deck. The VIP cabin is breathtaking – it’s just as well-suited to a co-owner as a guest."
A previous statement from Zinchenko revealed the build is actually progressing ahead of schedule, to the owner's delight. "We are starting to show the GX42 to the many prospects who have expressed real interest in the GX Superyachts brand," he said at the time. "We couldn’t be more pleased with the dedicated team that has made all this possible, from Marco Casali’s visionary design to Francesco Rogantin & NAMES for top-tier naval architecture and SES for their skilled craftsmanship.”
The development comes after GX Superyachts revealed a new entry-level 34-metre raised pilothouse model, which was first revealed at this year's Palm Beach International Boat Show.
